The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and brightening morning, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
