Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven splits open. 1 When the planets are dispersed, 2 when the seas overflow; 3 And when the Graves are turned upside down;- 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O human! What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord 6 Who created you, then made you complete, then made you symmetrical? 7 He moulded you into whatever shape He willed. 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,- 10 watching over you 11 They know whatsoever ye do. 12 Indeed, the righteous shall (live) in bliss. 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 They will enter it on the Day of Justice. 15 And they shall by no means be absent from it. 16 And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is the Day when no soul can do a thing for another soul. That Day, the command belongs to Allah. 19
