Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 and when the stars are scattered, 2 the oceans are merged together, 3 when the graves are overturned, 4 Each soul will know what it had sent ahead and what it had left behind. 5 O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one, 6 Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, and gave thee a just bias; 7 Into whatever form He pleased He constituted you. 8 No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 Kiraman (honourable) Katibin writing down (your deeds). 11 who know what you do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 and the libertines shall be in a fiery furnace 14 They will burn in it on the Day of Judgement, 15 And will not be able to hide from it. 16 And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 17 Again, what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 18 [It will be] a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to another human being: for on that Day [it will become manifest that] all sovereignty is God's alone. 19
