Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder, 1 and when the stars are scattered, 2 and when the seas burst beyond their bounds, 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 (Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 who created you, fashioned you and proportioned you, 7 In whatever form He willed, He put you together. 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, 10 noble recorders, 11 Who know what you do. 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 and which they shall not [be able to] evade. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Again, what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 18 It is the Day when no soul can do a thing for another soul. That Day, the command belongs to Allah. 19
