Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the sky is cleft asunder; 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 when the oceans are gushed forth, 3 when the graves are overturned, 4 then everyone will know what he has sent ahead, and what he has left behind. 5 O human! What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord 6 Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 No indeed; (the fact is that) you deny the Reckoning, declaring it a lie; 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 noble scribes, 11 Knowing all what you may do. 12 Indeed, the righteous shall (live) in bliss. 13 And verily, the Fujjar (the wicked, disbelievers, sinners and evil-doers) will be in the blazing Fire (Hell), 14 which they will enter on the Day of Judgment 15 and which they shall not [be able to] evade. 16 And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah. 19
