Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 When the Stars are scattered; 2 And when the oceans are swept away. 3 and when the graves are overturned 4 Each soul will know what it had sent ahead and what it had left behind. 5 O man, what seduced you from your munificent Lord 6 who has created thee, and formed thee in accordance with what thou art meant' to be, and shaped thy nature in just proportions, 7 having put thee together in whatever form He willed [thee to have]? 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 noble scribes 11 Who know (all) that ye do. 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 which they shall enter on the Day of Judgement, 15 to burn therein. 16 And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 Again, what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
