The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to Al-Mutaffifin [those who give less in measure and weight (decrease the rights of others)], 1 Who insist on being given full when they take from others, 2 But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Think they not that they will be resurrected (for reckoning), 4 On a mighty Day. 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 and what shall teach thee what is Sijjin? 8 A record [indelibly] inscribed! 9 Woe, that Day, to those that deny- 10 those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: 11 And none can deny it but the Transgressor beyond bounds the Sinner! 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." 13 Nay! rather, what they used to do has become like rust upon their hearts. 14 Nay, verily, from [the grace of] their Sustainer shall they on that Day be debarred; 15 Then lo! they verily will burn in hell, 16 Then, it will be said to them: "This is what you used to deny!" 17 NAY, VERILY - the record of the truly virtuous is [set down] in a mode most lofty! 18 And what will make you know what 'Illiyyun is? 19 A record of good deeds written. 20 Which is witnessed by the close ones. 21 Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be served the choicest wine, sealed 25 The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: 26 and whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 a spring at which those drawn close to God will drink. 28 Behold, the sinners were laughing at the believers, 29 when them passed them by winking at one another, 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. 32 But they had not been sent as keepers over them! 33 On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
