The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters; 1 when they measure against the people, take full measure 2 Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 on a Great Day, 5 A Day whereon mankind shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 and what shall teach thee what is Sijjin? 8 It is a (repository of) distinctly written record. 9 Woe, on that Day, to those who reject, 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 And none gives the lie to it but every exceeder of limits, sinful one 12 who, when listening to Our revelations, say, "These are only ancient legends". 13 Not at all – but rather their earnings have heaped rust upon their hearts. 14 Nay, but surely on that day they will be covered from (the mercy of) their Lord. 15 Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire. 16 Then, it will be said to them: "This is what you used to deny!" 17 No indeed; the book of the pious is in Illiyun; 18 But how will you comprehend what 'Illiyun is? 19 A record of good deeds written. 20 which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard. 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 Reclining on couches, looking on. 23 You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure. 24 They will be given pure wine out of sealed containers 25 The seal thereof will be of musk. And to this end let the aspirers aspire 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. 28 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 and whenever they pass by them, they wink at one another [derisively]; 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost." 32 Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 On high couches, gazing. 35 Will not the disbelievers then be duly recompensed for their laughing at the believers? 36
