The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to those who give short measure, 1 Those who when they take the measure from others, take it in full! 2 but, when they measure for them or weigh for them, do skimp. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 unto a mighty day 5 a day when mankind shall stand before the Lord of all Being? 6 Woe to them! Let them know that the records of the sinner's deeds are in Sijin. 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 A written record. 9 Woe, that Day, to the deniers, 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 Not at all – but rather their earnings have heaped rust upon their hearts. 14 No indeed, on that Day they shall be veiled from their Lord. 15 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 It is a (repository of) distinctly written record 20 witnessed by those brought nigh. 21 The virtuous will live in bliss, 22 On thrones, watching. 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given to drink of pure wine, sealed. 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 A spring whereof drink those nearest to Allah. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 and whenever they return to people of their own kind, they return full of jests; 31 and when they saw them, they said [scornfully], "These men have surely gone astray," 32 But they were not Sent to be guardians over them! 33 But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers 34 On high couches, gazing. 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
