The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Woe unto the scrimpers: 1 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, 2 but, when they measure for them or weigh for them, do skimp. 3 Do they not realise that they will be raised to life 4 on a great day 5 the Day when all men shall stand before the Sustainer of all the worlds? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 And what will make you know what the Sijjin is? 8 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to the deniers, 10 those that give the lie to the Day of Recompense. 11 And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. 12 who, when listening to Our revelations, say, "These are only ancient legends". 13 No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. 14 No indeed; but upon that day they shall be veiled from their Lord, 15 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 By no means! Verily the record of the virtuous shall be in 'Illiyun. 18 And what will make you know what the highest Iliyin is? 19 A record [indelibly] inscribed, 20 To which bear witness those brought nigh. 21 Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, 22 On adorned couches, observing. 23 You shall see upon their faces the glow of bliss. 24 They are given to drink of a pure wine, sealed, 25 The last thereof (that wine) will be the smell of musk, and for this let (all) those strive who want to strive (i.e. hasten earnestly to the obedience of Allah). 26 Blended with the water of Tasnim, (heights ultimate of evolution), 27 The spring from which drink the ones close to Allah. 28 Verily! (During the worldly life) those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink one to another (in mockery); 30 And whilst returning to their homes, they used to return rejoicing. 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 But they had not been sent as guardians over them. 33 So, the believers will laugh at the infidels on that day, 34 On high thrones, watching. 35 Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do? 36
