The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce! 3 Do they not realise that they will be raised to life 4 [and called to account] on an awesome Day 5 the Day when all men shall stand before the Sustainer of all the worlds? 6 Indeed the ledger of the wicked will be in (the lowest depths) Sijjin. 7 Would that you knew what Sijin is!? 8 A book inscribed. 9 Woe on that Day unto the beliers 10 who cry lies to the Day of Doom; 11 And none will deny it, except every transgressor, rebel. 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 By no means! Aye! encrusted upon their hearts is that which they have been earning. 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. 16 Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false! 17 Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin. 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 A book inscribed, 20 witnessed by those who are near (to Allah). 21 Verily the pious will be in heaven, 22 On couches face to face. 23 You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed 25 whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 The spring from which drink the ones close to Allah. 28 The sinners laughed at the believers 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 And withal, they have no call to watch over [the beliefs of] others... 33 so today those who believe shall [be able to] laugh at those who denied the truth 34 On Thrones (of Dignity) they will command (a sight) (of all things). 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
