The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 Who insist on being given full when they take from others, 2 but who, when they measure or weigh for others, give less than their due. 3 Do they not think that they will be called to account?- 4 (To be raised) for a Great Day? 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 Indeed the ledger of the wicked will be in (the lowest depths) Sijjin. 7 Ah! what will convey unto thee what Sijjin is! - 8 It is a Book inscribed. 9 Woe on that Day unto the beliers 10 who cry lies to the Day of Doom; 11 And none gives the lie to it but every exceeder of limits, sinful one 12 When Our revelations are conveyed to him, he says, "Fables of the ancients!" 13 Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. 14 No indeed, on that Day they shall be veiled from their Lord. 15 They will suffer the heat of fire 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 However, the records of the deeds of the virtuous ones will certainly be in Illiyin. 18 What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! 19 (It is) a marked Book, 20 Which is witnessed by the close ones. 21 Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, 22 seated on couches and gazing around in wonder. 23 You will recognise the freshness of serenity on their faces. 24 They will be served the choicest wine, sealed 25 The seal thereof will be of musk. And to this end let the aspirers aspire 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). 28 Indeed the guilty used to laugh at the believers. 29 And, when they passed them, to wink at each other, 30 And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting; 31 and whenever they see those [who believe,] they say: "Behold, these [people] have indeed gone astray!" 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 This day it is those who believe who have the laugh of disbelievers, 34 while reclining on couches and reviewing (the bounties given to them). 35 Did not the disbelievers get repaid for what they used to do? 36
