The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 those who, when they are to receive their due from [other] people, demand that it be given in full 2 Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 For a mighty day, 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 What could let you know what the Sijjeen is! 8 It is a Book inscribed. 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: 11 for, none gives the lie to it but such as are wont to transgress against all that is [and are] immersed in sin: 12 Who, when thou readest unto him Our revelations, saith: (Mere) fables of the men of old. 13 No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts. 14 No indeed; but upon that day they shall be veiled from their Lord, 15 Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire. 16 Then, it will be said to them: "This is what you used to deny!" 17 No indeed; the book of the pious is in Illiyun; 18 And what will make you know what 'Illiyyun is? 19 A record [indelibly] inscribed, 20 witnessed by those brought nigh. 21 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss. 24 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed 25 The seal thereof will be of musk. And to this end let the aspirers aspire 26 And the admixture of it is a water of Tasnim, 27 A spring, from (the waters) whereof drink those Nearest to Allah. 28 Lo! the guilty used to laugh at those who believed, 29 when them passed them by winking at one another, 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. 32 But they were not Sent to be guardians over them! 33 But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers 34 as they (recline) upon their couches and gaze (around them). 35 Will not the disbelievers then be duly recompensed for their laughing at the believers? 36
