The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 when they measure against the people, take full measure 2 And when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 on a Great Day, 5 when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 And what will make you know what Sijjin is? 8 It is a Book inscribed. 9 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies, 10 who belied the Day of Recompense! 11 And none deny it except every sinful transgressor. 12 When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. 13 Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 No indeed; the book of the pious is in Illiyun; 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 (It is) a marked Book, 20 The ones nearest to God will bring it to public. 21 Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They are given to drink of a pure wine, sealed, 25 pouring forth with a fragrance of musk. To that [wine of paradise,] then, let all such aspire as [are willing to] aspire to things of high account: 26 And the admixture of it is a water of Tasnim, 27 a source [of bliss] whereof those who are drawn close unto God shall drink. 28 Indeed the guilty used to laugh at the believers. 29 And when they passed by them, they winked at one another. 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 and whenever they see those [who believe,] they say: "Behold, these [people] have indeed gone astray!" 32 Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. 33 This day it is those who believe who have the laugh of disbelievers, 34 upon couches gazing. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
