Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 and place it in a secure place 21 Till an appointed term, 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 for the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
