The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
