The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 shall call for destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
