The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
