And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, 30 They (had experienced) under the Pharaoh. He was certainly a tyrant, guilty of excess. 31 and indeed, We chose them knowingly above all other people, 32 And We gave them portents wherein was a clear trial. 33 These people say, 34 "There is no dying for us but once; and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring back our fathers, if ye speak the truth! 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them because they were indeed Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.). 37 For [thus it is:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in mere idle play: 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 The Day of Decision is the appointed time for all. 40 The day on which a friend shall not avail (his) friend aught, nor shall they be helped, 41 Apart from those to whom God is kind. He is all-mighty and all-merciful. 42
