The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 The reckoning of those whose Book of records will be given into their right hands 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
