The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 shall call for destruction 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
