The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord and that befits it. 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 for, behold, he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
God the Almighty always says the truth.
