The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
