The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 when earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
