Al-Inshiqaaq
The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 will be easy, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
