The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
