The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens with constellations, 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 Cursed be the makers of the pit, 4 by a burning fire 5 When they were sitting near it 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 And they did not take vengeance on them for aught except that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praised, 8 Whose kingdom spreads over the heavens and the earth. God is witness over everything. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 (But) for those who believe and do good works, for them there are Gardens underneath which rivers flow that is the Great Victory! 11 Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe. 12 It is He who originates and repeats. 13 And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness, 14 The Lord of the glorious Throne, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 HAS IT ever come within thy ken, the story of the [sinful] hosts 17 Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? 18 Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth. 19 However, God encompassed their activities. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 In a guarded tablet. 22
