The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the mansions of the stars, 1 And by oath of the Promised Day. 2 By the witness and the witnessed! 3 Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King). 4 Of fire fuel-fed, 5 When they were sitting near it 6 And to that which they did to the believers were witnesses. 7 And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy, 8 to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. God is witness over all things. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 Surely the might of your Lord is great. 12 Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats. 13 He is the All-forgiving, the Most Loving One, 14 – the Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 The great doer of what He will. 16 Hast thou received the story of the hosts, 17 [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial, 19 While Allah encompasses them from behind. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Koran, 21 written on a preserved Tablet. 22
