The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven of the constellations! 1 And by the Day promised, 2 And by the Day witnessing and the Day witnessed, 3 Accursed be the People of the Ditch! 4 by a burning fire 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 whom they hated for no other reason than that they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, 8 to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. God is witness over all things. 9 Surely those who tormented the believing men and the believing women and then did not repent, theirs shall be the chastisement of Hell, and theirs shall be the chastisement of burning. 10 Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. 11 Verily, (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the Grip (Punishment) of your Lord is severe. 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 in sublime almightiness enthroned, 15 Doer of what He will. 16 Has the story of the hordes 17 of Pharaoh and of Thamood? 18 But those who disbelieve are engaged in denial. 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 It is indeed a glorious Quran, 21 In a guarded tablet. 22
