The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 by the Promised Day, 2 By the witness and the witnessed! 3 That accursed are the men of the trench 4 with fire abounding in fuel, 5 When they were sitting at its edge. 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness. 9 Surely for those who persecute believers, men and women, and do not repent afterwards, is the punishment of Hell, and the punishment of burning. 10 (But) for those who believe and do good works, for them there are Gardens underneath which rivers flow that is the Great Victory! 11 Verily, (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the Grip (Punishment) of your Lord is severe. 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, 14 Master of the Honourable Throne. 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 HAS IT ever come within thy ken, the story of the [sinful] hosts 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 In fact, the disbelievers had always rejected (Our revelations). 19 But God surrounds them from all sides. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 [Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate. 22
