The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By heaven of the constellations, 1 by the Promised Day, 2 And by the Day witnessing and the Day witnessed, 3 (Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch 4 the fire with its fuel, 5 When they sat by it, 6 And they were witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 and the One to whom belongs the heavens and the earth. God is the Witness of all things. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 (But) for those who believe and do good works, for them there are Gardens underneath which rivers flow that is the Great Victory! 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 Surely He it is Who originates and reproduces, 13 And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness, 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 Doer of whatsoever He intendeth. 16 Did the story of the armies reach you? 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 It is indeed a glorious Quran, 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
