Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17

God the Almighty always says the truth.
