The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
