The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are devising guile, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
Almighty Allah's Truth.
