The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
