The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
