He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 because the blind man approached him! 2 You never know. Perhaps he wanted to purify himself, 3 or receive some (Quranic) advice which would benefit him. 4 As for him who was indifferent, 5 you attended to him, 6 though you will not be questioned even if he never purifies himself. 7 But as to him who came to you running. 8 And is afraid (of Allah and His Punishment), 9 Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, 10 Nay! surely it is an admonishment. 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 Exalted and purified, 14 by the hands of the noble, virtuous, 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 From what did He create him? 18 From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 Then when He listeth, He shall raise him to life. 22 Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. 23 Let man reflect on the food he eats. 24 We poured down rain abundantly, 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 And grapes and herbage, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 And enclosed gardens luxuriant. 30 And fruit and grass - 31 (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening cry shall be sounded 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 And his mother and his father 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 laughing, rejoicing at glad tidings. 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. 42
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
