The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and so am I: 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
