The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 it is no merriment. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
