Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
