S (Saad)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Saad, by the Holy Reading (Koran) of the Remembrance. 1 Those who deny the truth are steeped in arrogance and hostility. 2 How many generations have We destroyed before them. They called: 'The time is neither of escape, nor safety' 3 It seems strange to the pagans that a man from their own people should come to them as a Prophet. The unbelievers have said, "He is only a lying magician". 4 “Has he made all the Gods into One God? This is really something very strange!” 5 A group of the pagans walked out of a meeting with the Prophet and told the others, "Let us walk away. Be steadfast in the worship of your gods. This man wants to dominate you. 6 We have heard nothing like this in the latest religion. This is only his own false invention. 7 “Is the Qur’an which is sent to him, among us?” In fact they are in a doubt concerning My Book; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or do they have the depositories of the mercy of your Lord, the Exalted in Might, the Bestower? 9 Or [that] the dominion over the heavens and the earth and all that is between them is theirs? Why, then, let them try to ascend [to God-like power] by all [conceivable] means! 10 A host of deserters of the allies shall be here put to flight. 11 Before them, the people of Nooh had denied, and the tribe of A’ad, and Firaun who used to crucify. 12 And Samood and the people of Lut and the dwellers of the thicket; these were the parties. 13 not one, that cried not lies to the Messengers, so My retribution was just. 14
