The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 and so am I: 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
Almighty God's Truth.
