The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 it is not a jest. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
