The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
