The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 The piercing star! 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
