The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 it is not a jest. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
