The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
