The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
