The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 The piercing star! 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
