The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The believers must (eventually) win through,- 1 those who, in their Prayers, humble themselves; 2 And who do not incline towards indecent matters. 3 And who pay the (obligatory) charity. 4 And those who of their private parts are guards. 5 Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed - 6 Those who seek beyond that are transgressors. 7 And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant, 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 these are the heirs 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth). 12 then We set him, a drop, in a receptacle secure, 13 Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators. 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 and you will be brought back to life again on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And indeed We have created above you seven heavens (one over the other), and We are never unaware of the creation. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 Then We produce for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you and whereof ye eat; 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22
